1. Who this policy covers

This policy describes how personal information is handled in connection with:

  • mobile games and applications published by ZELDA DIGITAL MARKETING B.V. LTD;
  • all applications published on Google Play under the developer account CATHEDRAL COINS AND COLLECTABLES LTD, which are managed and operated by ZELDA DIGITAL MARKETING B.V. LTD; and
  • our website at zeldadigitalmarketing.com.

Together we call these the "Services". In this policy, "Zelda Digital Marketing", "we", "us" and "our" mean ZELDA DIGITAL MARKETING B.V. LTD. "You" means anyone who plays our games, uses our apps or visits our website.

2. The data controller

ZELDA DIGITAL MARKETING B.V. LTD is the controller responsible for personal information processed through the Services, including information processed through the applications listed under CATHEDRAL COINS AND COLLECTABLES LTD on Google Play. Our registered office is:

ZELDA DIGITAL MARKETING B.V. LTD
27 Old Gloucester Street
London WC1N 3AX
United Kingdom

We process personal information in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). Where players are located in the European Economic Area, we also respect the EU General Data Protection Regulation, and we apply the protections required by other local laws where they apply.

3. Our commitments in brief

  • Our games can be played without creating an account or giving us your name, email address or phone number.
  • We do not sell personal information, and we do not rent, trade or license player data to third parties.
  • Our games are mainly funded by advertising and optional in-app purchases. Where personalised advertising requires consent, we ask for it first.
  • We collect only the technical information needed to run, measure, protect and fund our games.
  • Payments for in-app purchases are processed by Google Play. We never see or store your card details.

4. What information is involved

The table below summarises the categories of information that may be processed when you use the Services, either by us or by partners built into our apps.

We do not deliberately collect special category data (such as health, ethnicity or religious beliefs), and we ask that you do not send it to us.

5. Why it is used and our lawful bases

PurposeLawful basis (UK GDPR)
Running the game, saving progress and delivering purchased itemsPerformance of a contract with you
Fixing crashes, preventing fraud and keeping the Services secureOur legitimate interests in operating safe, working products
Aggregated analytics to improve game design and balanceOur legitimate interests, or consent where required by PECR
Showing non-personalised (contextual) advertisingOur legitimate interests in funding free games
Showing personalised advertising and ad measurementYour consent
Keeping financial records and responding to authoritiesCompliance with legal obligations
Responding to your correspondence and requestsOur legitimate interests, or legal obligation for rights requests

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have weighed those interests against your rights and expectations. You can object at any time (see section 11).

6. Advertising, consent and your choices

Our games show ads delivered through third-party mediation platforms and advertising networks. When you first open one of our games in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, a consent message may appear. It uses a certified consent management platform and lets you accept or refuse personalised advertising. Refusing does not stop you playing. You will still see ads, but they will be less tailored to you.

You can change your choices at any time through:

  • the privacy or consent option in the game's settings menu, where available;
  • your device settings: on Android, go to Settings → Privacy → Ads to delete or reset your Advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation;
  • uninstalling the app, which stops all further collection through it.

Some regions offer extra choices. For example, residents of certain US states can opt out of targeted advertising. We honour these choices where they apply, along with recognised signals such as Global Privacy Control where technically supported.

7. Service providers and partners

We share information only as far as needed with:

  • Advertising & mediation partners, who serve ads, run auctions, cap frequency and detect ad fraud. Some act as independent controllers under their own privacy policies.
  • Analytics & crash-reporting providers, who help us understand performance and stability, mostly in aggregate form.
  • Platform providers, such as Google Play for distribution, purchases and app updates.
  • Hosting & infrastructure providers, who store data on our behalf under contract.
  • Professional advisers and authorities, where required by law or to protect our rights, our players or others.

If our business, or any title we operate, is sold, merged or reorganised, information may pass to the new operator. That operator must continue to protect it in line with this policy.

8. Transfers outside the UK

Some of our partners are based outside the United Kingdom, including in the European Economic Area and the United States. When personal information is transferred, we rely on UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or other safeguards recognised by UK law.

9. How long information is kept

  • Analytics and gameplay data: kept in identifiable form for no longer than 26 months, then deleted or aggregated.
  • Purchase records: kept for up to six years to meet UK tax and accounting rules.
  • Correspondence: kept for up to two years after the matter is closed.
  • Partner-held data: kept according to each partner's own retention policy.

10. Children and young players

Our games are designed for a general audience and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under the age of digital consent in their country (13 in the UK and up to 16 in parts of the EEA). We follow the principles of the ICO's Age Appropriate Design Code. Where a game may appeal to younger players, we switch off personalised advertising and use only child-appropriate ad settings.

If you believe a child has given us personal information, please write to us at the address in section 15 and we will delete it promptly.

11. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • rectify information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • erase your information in certain circumstances;
  • restrict how we use your information;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time;
  • port information you provided to us to another service;
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing.

Because our games do not use accounts, we often hold no information that can identify you directly. To help us find any records linked to your device, please include the game name and, if you can, your Advertising ID with your request. We will reply within one month. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we do not charge for reasonable requests.

You also have the right to complain to the UK supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk. Players in the EEA may contact their local data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.

12. Keeping information secure

We use encryption in transit, access controls, the principle of least privilege and careful vetting of partners to protect information. No online service can be completely secure, but if a breach occurs that affects your rights, we will notify you and the ICO where the law requires it.

13. Website and cookies

Our website is informational. It does not use advertising cookies or ask you to create an account. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and troubleshooting. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address in order to deliver them.

14. Updates to this policy

We review this policy regularly and will update it when our Services, partners or legal obligations change. The date at the top shows the latest revision. For significant changes, we will also tell players in the affected games.
